Every effort should be made to administer medication at home to prevent loss of class
time. When medications are required during school hours, the following procedures
will be followed:
* State regulations require that a parent and licensed provider (physician or nurse practitioner) sign a consent form for regularly scheduled medications.
* For short term medications such as antibiotics, parental consent is required but the prescription bottle is sufficient for physician concent.
* Only a 30 day supply of medication should be brought in by a responsible adult. The medication must be in a pharmacy or manufacturer labeled container.
* No child is permitted to transport medication to school.
