The mission of the School Health Offices of The Tri-Town Elementaries and
Masconomet Districts is to promote optimal wellness in every school age child so that
he/she may be best able to learn. In order to accomplish this, we must develop a
strong link between parents, school, community health services and the school health
offices. The role of your school nurse has been expanded to include the following:
* First aid treatment
* Illness assessment, referral, follow-up
* Environmental health and safety
* Infection control
* Health education and consultationto students, staff and parents
* Mandated screenings
* Medication administration
* Case management of students with special needs
* Mental health screening and referrals
* Emergency plan development
| Maintaining communication with your child's school nurse is very important. Should your child's health status change during the school year due to illness or injury, please be sure to notify the nurse, who will then develop or adjust the health care plan your child needs during the school day. |
