Changing Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers

An Improper Fraction is a fraction with the numerator bigger than the denominator.  A Mixed Number is a whole number and a fraction.

   For example:

4/3 is a Improper Fraction

1 1/3 is a Mixed Number

Use these strategies for changing Improper Fractions to Mixed Numbers:

Strategy 1: It may be easier to put the fraction into lowest terms first.

Strategy 2: Determine how many times the numerator will divide into the
denonimator, this number becomes the whole number part
                  of the mixed number.

Strategy 3: The remainder becomes the new numerator, and the
                  denominator stays the same.
