Multiples and LCM

Multiples of a whole number are the products of that number and other whole numbers.  The Least Common Multiple(LCM) is the smallest multiple that two whole numbers have in common.

   For example:

1*8 = 8

2*8 = 16

3*8 = 24

8, 16, and 24 are the first three multiples of 8

Use these strategies for finding the LCM of two whole numbers:

Strategy 1:  Find multiples in sequential order(multiply the number by
                  1 then 2,3,4,5...)

Strategy 2: Alternate finding multiples of the two numbers until you
                  find a common one.
