Prime Factorization

A Prime Factorization shows a number written as a product of prime numbers.

   For example:

The Prime Factorization of 36 is 2*2*3*3

Use these strategies for finding the Prime Factorization of a number:

 

Strategy 1: Find any factor pair for the number.  Draw a Branch leading to each
                 factor.

Strategy 2: If a factor on the end of a branch is prime, circle it.  If a factor is not
                  prime, find a factor pair for it.

Strategy 3: Write all the prime numbers in an equation from least to greatest.

Strategy 4: Put the equation in exponential form.
