appworm.gif (1771 bytes) Book of the Week

On Thursday's your child will be bringing home a "Book of the Week". The book is teacher selected and can vary from a paperback book to a poem or story. I send the book home in a zip lock bag so that you can recognize it. Your child is responsible for practicing reading the book during the week at home and returning it on the following Thursday. I tell the child that the best way to improve reading skills is to read. Your child should read at least 15-20 minutes a night.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could help your child with the "Book of the Week". The level of the books will vary. At times it will be easy enough for your child to read with little or no support. Other times it may be a book that is more difficult. I want this to be as positive an experience as possible.  If you have any questions about this or any other concerns please don't hesitate to call me at home
