MUSIC
December 18, 2008
Grade One: 9:30 a.m.
Kindergarten: 2 p.m.
All parents, relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the Steward Elementary School concerts, hosted in the cafeteria.
Children should dress up for the performances. They should come with shoes or sneakers, as flip-flops and clogs pose a danger
on the choral risers.
Third Grade Parents - Beginning in January, each third-grader will learn how to play the recorder. Although the school will loan each student an instrument, many families prefer to purchase recorders for their children. Most music and toy stores carry a suitable recorder for about $5. Every student should practice the recorder for 10 minutes a day, five days a week.
* Blow gently, saying the syllable “do”
* Teeth and tongue never touch the mouthpiece
* Left hand goes on top
* Check the fingering chart
* Cover holes completely
LOOK AND LISTEN ... www.musick8kids.com has its own special page of games for children titled "Piggy's Music Lessons." Visitors of this Web site
